Corporate and Social Responsibility

Our home in the Isle of Man ensures we enjoy strength and stability – with an Aa1 sovereign rating from Moody’s, winning the prestigious Best International Finance Centre award at the 2015 International Fund and Product Awards, coveted OECD white list status and recognised by the IMF as a well-regulated offshore finance centre of excellence, the Island now leads the world for offshore life insurance.

For more than 90% of our staff it’s home and we take our role here seriously. We are associated with some fantastic clubs, associations and events through our sponsorship programme. For example:

Olympic shooter Tim Kneale

RL360° Quantum sponsors World Record Holder Tim Kneale, who will be competing at the Rio Olympics in August.

Tim, who was born and lived on the Isle of Man until the age of 19, will represent Team GB at the Double Trap shooting event at this summer’s Olympics. Tim grew up in the north of the Island, and all his family still live on the Isle of Man. He represented the Isle of Man at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, where he won a Bronze Medal. He is on the shortlist for the 2016 Manx Sports Personality of the Year Award.

Tim is the current Double Trap World Record holder, and is rated number 2 in the world in the International Shooting Sport Federation (“ISSF”) rankings.

RL360° TT sponsorship

The world famous TT Races go from strength to strength each year. The hair-raising spectacle of motorbikes reaching speeds of up to 200mph on 37 miles of closed public roads is second to none.

We have been associated with the TT since 2002, making us the event’s longest running sponsor. We are the Official Life Assurance and Pensions partner of the TT Races and part of this deal involves title sponsorship of the RL360° Superstock TT Race.

Extensive television coverage of the event means our brand reaches all corners of the globe during TT fortnight (the 2016 races will be held from 28 May to 10 June).

And we make the most of our TT links each year by inviting key advisers to visit the Isle of Man, watch our race and enjoy some RL360° hospitality.

Team RL360° - 22 years of cycling success

The Isle of Man really is renowned for its dedication to two-wheeled sport, in fact the non-motorised version is verging on a national obsession.

RL360° is involved in cycling at grass roots level, having sponsored the massive success story that is the Isle of Man Youth Cycling League for more than 2 decades.

Team RL360° has been the training ground for Olympic gold medallist Peter Kennaugh and for Mark Cavendish who, in 2012, took his 23rd stage win and entered the record books as the most successful Tour de France sprinter of all time. Cavendish has since gone on to win 3 more stages, putting him 3rd on the list of riders with the most ever stage wins.

The league continues to churn out potential champions while at the same time providing hundreds of the Isle of Man's 3 to 16-year-olds with an active and fun hobby.

We are the title sponsor of the Youth Cycling League and also take the opportunity to further support their young cyclists, such as those pictured here, who show promise in competition in the UK.

The Viking Longboat Championships

Each summer RL360° supports the Viking Longboat Championships, held in Peel, in the west of the Isle of Man.

Teams from businesses and organisations across the Isle of Man, including a few fielded by RL360°, compete in a rowing contest around the harbour in traditional Viking Longboats. The winning teams in each category, plus second and third places, receive cash prizes, all donated by RL360°. All of this money is then donated to the teams’ charity of choice.

We have been sponsoring the Isle of Man Mixed Football League since 2009.

More than 350 girls and boys aged 12 and under play in 29 teams across four divisions.

RL360°’s contribution allows the youngsters to keep playing throughout the winter on Astroturf, as well as help meet league and cup competition running costs.

Young farmers netball team sponsorship

RL360° is proud to sponsor the RL360° Young Farmers Netball team. The team, which includes Hannah Moore, a member of the Finance Team at RL360°, was only formed in 2011 and during that time has been promoted twice. The team are now in Division One of the Manx Netball Association League.

Hannah said: “The sponsorship money from RL360° helped us to buy new kit and we are regularly complimented on being the best turned out team in the league! Netball on the Island is thriving and is very competitive and we find it a great way to socialise and keep fit at the same time.”
